This past weekend 1 year old Samantha and her family joined me for a fun session at Pismo Beach. I’ve had this old frame for awhile, just hanging around the house empty, when I got the idea Saturday morning that it is probably the perfect height for a toddler. We brought it with us to the sand dunes just to try it out. Sammy turned the frame into the funniest game. She would stand frozen holding the frame for just a second (long enough for me to snap a couple of images) then she would suddenly throw it down, cracking up laughing every time. We had so much fun watching and laughing with her, that we almost missed the sunset.
I have had the privilege to photograph Samantha on 3 occasions during her first year of life, and she has been a wonderful subject the entire time. It is so amazing to watch children as they grow, she has turned from a kissable baby into a toddler with loads of personality. Take a look at the incredible transformation she has gone through, captured through our 3 sessions together (2 months, 6 months and 1 year).
