Meet 15 day old Sebastian and his lovely family. Although he was just a little older than most newborns I photograph, we were able to capture many beautiful images of him. So glad to meet him and his family, and I hope to continue to photograph their boys as they grow.

Sweet Sophia was a real star for me on the day of her session. She was even patient with big sister, whom had very different ideas on what she wanted to be doing! Congratulations Mom and Dad, you have two precious girls to be proud of.

In a season of renewal, such as we are in now, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my personal journey in photography. It’s hard for me to believe that more than 12 years years has passed since first walking down the path of life with a camera. I could not have imagined when I first started pursuing my interests with film that I would be here now. All I can think about is how grateful for I am for the wonderful people, experiences, and blessings that I have encountered along the way.

Being sentimental, I took to look back on my old black and while 35mm negatives to find an image that represents a glimpse into what would eventually unfold into I See Beauty. I found this sweet image of Talya, the 4 year old daughter of a co-worker, that I captured on an sunny spring morning in 2001. This image represents a glimpse into my future as a childhood photographer. Although my skill has vastly improved since then, my style and sense of connection felt in my images has stayed true.

I have had the honor of following this family since 4 year old Taylor was a newborn. Now Taylor and Charlotte are proudly welcoming their new baby brother Jesse. It’s amazing how each of them looked nearly identical as newborns. We will be seeing a lot more of them over the next year as we watch Jesse grow into a toddler too. Congratulations Mom and Dad on the birth of your son!

It was quite the adventure to get all 3 siblings in a photo together. I snapped so many images trying to get just one. The one below cracks me up and is a true tell of what these types of moments are like.

I am happy to announce that I have a home studio, and a new home for that matter! My absence from the blog is because I have been busy with all the time consuming elements of purchasing, renovating, and moving into the new place. I still have boxes stacked and have not hung much art, but all and all we are getting settled and happy.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to use home studio for the first time with newborn Hesstin. He helped me model the hardwood floors and beautiful natural light that I have dreamed of having for my own space. I am excited to do more sessions in my studio as the opportunity arises.

If baby Hesstin grows up to follow in his father’s footsteps, he will be a 5th generation farmer. Cotton is where this family’s passion is and they brought lots of the fluffy stuff to include for his big picture day, including the family’s first cotton bail which he is sleeping on. I love incorporating my client’s personal items into my sessions, it always makes for unique and original images like these. Thank you Hesstin for being such a great baby during your session, I am sure Mommy and Daddy are proud as can be!

Introducing 9 month old Lauren. Hearing the story of her early birth and the first few months of her life really touched me, and I can imagine what a true gift Lauren is to her family. She did so well during our session, I can tell she has been in front of Mom’s camera many times. Her endless stream of expressions had me giggling as I was sorting through the sessions images. Lauren is a true joy and beautiful little girl!

I can hardly believe Miss Emilia is almost 8 months old. She is such a happy baby, very observant, and she loves animals. When Emilia is around she lights up the room and my heart. I am so grateful to have her in my life.
