New Beginnings for a New Year

First off, a belated Happy New Year to everyone! The end of 2011 came with a mixed bundle of delights and challenges. Looking back on the year I accomplished everything I said I would, and more. I launched an updated look and website for I See Beauty, as well as being certified as an Eco-Friendly photographer forwarding my commitment to the betterment our children’s future. I took a two month journey to Australia and New Zealand establishing some very deep friendships, creating life long memories, and capturing some amazing images. But the thing I accomplished in 2011 that is the most dear to my heart is that I became the foster mother of a very special 6 year old little girl.

The hurdles of mothering a child with a high level of special needs forced me to take a step back from my everyday life and business, to refocus my time and attention on stabilizing her. I am happy to say that we are making progress, and in this very short period of time my daughter and I have come a long way. The strides she has made is encouraging and I am hopeful for her continued success.

Now that it has been more than two months since motherhood came knocking at my door, I am working hard at achieving the balance so crucial with new mothers. How do I give my daughter the time and attention she so desperately needs, along with fulfilling my necessities, keeping the business I am so passionate about thriving, and finding a little break every now and then? These questions are all on my mind daily. I haven’t figured it all out yet, but I have been carving some much needed time out each week that is dedicated to I See Beauty.

With all that being said, I am excited for 2012 and where the unforeseen adventures will take me. The great news is I am back to photographing again after my unexpected break, so do not hesitate to contact me for pictures!

Celebrating Campbell’s first year! {Fresno and Clovis Family Photographer}

I have been following this sweet family since 3 year old Liam was a newborn. Watching these brothers grow reminds me of how fast time passes, so I can hardly believe that Campbell just celebrated his first birthday. What handsome boys full of personality and charm. It was such a joy to spend time with them again.

Getting Big! {Fresno Fall Family Portraits}

It has been wonderful following this family for the past few years. I have had the opportunity to photograph both Alex and baby Owen as newborns, and I can hardly believe how big they have gotten. They were the 6th mini session I did this season, and as usual, had a wonderful time with them. I am thrilled with the images I have been capturing during these short sessions. I will for sure be doing more in the future!

Angel Girl {Central California Children’s Photographer}

These two ladies have a very special place in my heart, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph them. Mom and I have the longest running friendship in my life, more than 20 years (I can hardly believe it’s been that long!?!) We became best friends while still in high school. In our early 20′s we moved away from home to Southern California and lived, worked and spent every waking moment together. Eight years ago I was able to see her become a mother to a beautiful baby girl. Her daughter, Ally, has grown up to be a true Angel with upstanding qualities of being polite, smart, creative, patient, and sweet as can be. I hope one day soon I am blessed with such a wonderful daughter.

Overflowing with Talent {Fresno and Clovis Family Photography}

One of my mini sessions last week featured a talented family I hold in high esteem. I have known them since their youngest was a newborn. At the time I developed a strong admiration for them and I am sure I will ask Mom and Dad to mentor me as I jump into parenthood feet first as a Foster parent. Over the last few years the children have found a love for music and wanted to include their talents into their images. This made for one musical half hour, certainly getting the attention of the other park goers, and keeping me thoroughly entertained! The six children range in age from 19-4 years old, in order from oldest to youngest, meet: Ignacia, Ilexis, Ilia, Isaiah, Isis and Isabella.

Full of Love {Fresno Professional Family Photographer}

It has been nearly a year and a half since I have had the pleasure of photographing this family. Back then, Gema was a wee newborn, now she is an enthusiastic toddler, and big sister Sirena is as sweet as can be. What fabulous images we captured of them in such a short period of time during their mini-session last weekend!

Sean and Myra {Central California Children’s Photographer}

These two gave me such a wonderful surprise. They are the first to be photographed in my series of Fall mini-sessions. Last time I saw them is when big brother Sean celebrated his first birthday back in 2008! After that session Sean and his parents moved to the East Coast. But to my delight Mom contacted me recently to give me the good news that they just moved back to Cali. and this time their family had grown by one delightful 2 year old, Myra. I had so much fun with them!!!!

I have done so many photo sessions with this wonderful family I actually lost count. This year’s fall family pictures was all Mom’s idea, getting them captured in their vineyard and around the freshly harvested bins of raisins. The girls are getting older and clearly have their own ideas of what they will do, keeping me on my toes and making every image well earned. Thanks guys, I had a great time hanging out with you as usual!

It is always wonderful to see this Mommy and her two beautiful children together. I have photographed them all several times in the past, but I think these are my favorite images of the three of them thus far! Eight year old KB is growing into a handsome young man, and he has already perfected his flirty eyes, watch out ladies… Two year old Tatum is full of personality, and is O So Sweet! I so enjoy being around these kiddo’s and am so grateful for the friendship Mom and I have kindled over the past couple of years.

Family Love {California beach photography}

I spent the weekend at the beach cooling off and photographing 5 family sessions last week. It was a wonderful break from the valley heat and I had a great time photographing, relaxing, and spending time with friends and family.

This first session was of my cousin, his wife and two girls. It is the first family photograph of the 4 of them together, and I am delighted to be the one to capture it! They drove all the way from my hometown of Modesto to meet me at the beach, and I know the girls had a blast. I photographed Angie (7) and Isabel (5) last January when we went bowling together, as well as two summers ago. They grow so fast, right before my eyes, it is only when I look back at the photographs I realize how quickly times passes.
