New Year’s Baby {Fresno Newborn Photographer}

Introducing handsome baby Keegan, he was 8 days old when we first captured these precious pictures. Born on New Years day, he is nearly a month now. I am still playing catch up, but a sweet face like this is well worth the wait! I am proud of Keegan as he was extremely patient with us and his big sister McKenna too, whom was delighted to show him off to me. Congratulations Mom and Dad, it’s clear you two make the most amazing children.

Adored Henry {California Baby Photographer}

Baby Henry is clearly the star of this family. At only 4 1/2 months old, I can see that he has captured the hearts of everyone. Henry lives far away with his parents and they were in town visiting for the holidays. Mom wanted each of her beloved family members to have some fun photos with him, and asked me to capture these special moments. What an honor it was, and I am so proud of Henry for being a real trouper with all the wardrobe changes.

New Beginnings for a New Year

First off, a belated Happy New Year to everyone! The end of 2011 came with a mixed bundle of delights and challenges. Looking back on the year I accomplished everything I said I would, and more. I launched an updated look and website for I See Beauty, as well as being certified as an Eco-Friendly photographer forwarding my commitment to the betterment our children’s future. I took a two month journey to Australia and New Zealand establishing some very deep friendships, creating life long memories, and capturing some amazing images. But the thing I accomplished in 2011 that is the most dear to my heart is that I became the foster mother of a very special 6 year old little girl.

The hurdles of mothering a child with a high level of special needs forced me to take a step back from my everyday life and business, to refocus my time and attention on stabilizing her. I am happy to say that we are making progress, and in this very short period of time my daughter and I have come a long way. The strides she has made is encouraging and I am hopeful for her continued success.

Now that it has been more than two months since motherhood came knocking at my door, I am working hard at achieving the balance so crucial with new mothers. How do I give my daughter the time and attention she so desperately needs, along with fulfilling my necessities, keeping the business I am so passionate about thriving, and finding a little break every now and then? These questions are all on my mind daily. I haven’t figured it all out yet, but I have been carving some much needed time out each week that is dedicated to I See Beauty.

With all that being said, I am excited for 2012 and where the unforeseen adventures will take me. The great news is I am back to photographing again after my unexpected break, so do not hesitate to contact me for pictures!

Excited for Baby Boy {Fresno Maternity and Family Photography}

I was delighted to hear this family was expecting a little boy and they wanted me to photograph another set of very special moments in their lives. I first pointed my camera at them when they were pregnant with their first, beautiful McKenna, who I can hardly believe is already 3. She is now an active toddler, and was quite the ham for my camera this time around.

This sneak peek is a little late, as they just had their darling little boy. I have already had the pleasure of photographing him, and I cannot wait to show him off. Fortunately, I have wonderful and understanding clients like this family. I have had to put everything on hold for the month of December while I adjust to my new life with a foster daughter that has many unexpected challenges. I hope to get back into the swing of things soon!

Celebrating Campbell’s first year! {Fresno and Clovis Family Photographer}

I have been following this sweet family since 3 year old Liam was a newborn. Watching these brothers grow reminds me of how fast time passes, so I can hardly believe that Campbell just celebrated his first birthday. What handsome boys full of personality and charm. It was such a joy to spend time with them again.

Here is a very long awaited blog post. Meet baby Riley when she was just 6 days old. It was during her session when I received the infamous phone call that has changed my life, allowing me to welcome a little one into my home. Because of the recent changes I have faced, little Riley’s pictures have had an unexpected delay. So you can imagine how thrilled I am to finally get the time to share these precious images with you. In these few early pictures of Riley, I can already see a bit of her personality shining through!

Glimpses of Motherhood {California Childhood Photographer}

I have a very good reason for my blog absence lately. Not because I am not busy, or have nothing to post… on the contrary I have many things to share with you. For today I wanted to pass on the good news that nearly 3 weeks ago I took my first foster care placement making me a mother of a 6 year old little girl. It has taken so much time for the two of us to adjust. We are taking things one day at a time and have had many ups and downs. I wish I could say more, but there are many confidentiality limitations to being a foster parent, understandably.

While going through this adjustment period, I have had little to no time to sit behind a computer, because my nights are cherished for sleeping and my days are consumed by a child with many needs. Being a single parent, while working from home is not easy… But the good thing is I am slowing getting back on track and things are beginning to be accomplished. It is the little things that make me happy these days. Here is a picture of her, that was approved to be posted on my blog.

I have had the great fortune of fostering friendships with the families I have photographed over the years, and it brings me so much pleasure getting to know them outside the context of pictures. This delightful family is one of those special clients. Meeting them when Lauren was born nearly two years ago, we connected right away. Mom has a sweet, easy going and happy demeanor, and Dad always keeps me laughing with his quick whit. There was no hope for Lauren to be anything but a happy child with this comedy duo as parents.

Mila on the GO! {Fresno Family and Child Photographer}

I have not seen Mila since she was a wee newborn nearly a year and a half ago. It was great being able to photograph her again, although I must admit she wore me out. She kept me on my toes and proved herself to be the most active toddler I have had the privilege of photographing. She brought out all her antics for the session, making each of these images prized, and bringing me a few giggles from her blooper pictures too.
